- Conference Excursion  

The conference excursion will take place Wednesday, August 22, 2007, 1 - 7 pm and will be free of charge to all registered participants of ICFSI-11. A lunch box will be served at the beginning of the excursion

Meeting of the waters (Negro and Solimões/Amazonas rivers)

The conference excursion to the meeting of the waters between Rio Negro and Solimões departs from the Tropical Hotel pier by 1 pm, with the boat navigating downstream the Rio Negro and observing at left bank the city of Manaus, some wooden houses - a typical building, the floating gas station, the Main Market and other turistic atractions. It proceeds to the meeting of the waters where the muddy waters of the Solimões/Amazonas river run side by side with the dark ones of the Rio Negro without mixing. With good luck, we can see some species of Boto Tucuxi (Sotalia Fluviatalis) and Boto rosa (Inia Geoffrensis), dolphin frolicking above the water. After that, the boat takes you across the Rio Negro to the Janauari ecological park which gives you a wonderful opportunity to canoe amidst creeks and flooded forests with their exotic fauna and flora, including the famous Victoria Regia water lilies. By 6-7 pm you will return to the Tropical Hotel.

- Happy Hour

On Tuesday, August 21 2007, from 8 to 11 pm, there will be a happy hour, in a place to be announced, free of charge to all participants of ICFSI-11.

- Conference Banquet

On Thursday, August 23 2007, from 8 to 11 pm, the conference banquet will take place at the Tropical Hotel on the Victoria Régia pool area. It will include a Folkloric show with special costumes and northern Brazilian music.
