The hotel complex is constituted by two hotels:

1. Hotel Tropical Manaus

Hotel Tropical Manaus is the largest luxury hotel in Brasil. This deluxe resort property is strategically located on the shores of Rio Negro. It was projected and built intentionally in that area, just 16 km from downtown Manaus, but in the heart of the largest ecological reservation in the world - the Amazon Rainforest. This horizontal construction surrounded by 400,000 square meters of greenery encompasses 594 well-equipped, spacious and comfortable rooms and suites that form the residential wings of the hotel complex.

Open since 1976, the hotel hosts the Tropical Manaus Zoo Gardens, consisting of a menagerie of approximately 100 native species of the Amazonian fauna, housed in a green area of more than 20,000 square meters in the hotel grounds. Specimens include mammals, birds and reptiles, with emphasis being given to the jaguars, the only big cats and the biggest felines of the Americas, and the capybara, the largest living rodent in the world.

The original menagerie of the Tropical Manaus Zoo was composed of donations made by fellow citizens in Manaus or by IBAMA (Instituto Brasileiro do Meio Ambiente e dos Recursos Naturais Renováveis) the Brazilian Institute for the Environment and Renewable

Natural Resources, where the Zoo is duly registered and also authorized to develop captive breeding programs and to maintain captive born individuals of endangered native species.
Among the four endangered species - the "onça pintada" (Panthera onca), the "macaco aranha" (black spider monkeys) (Ateles paniscus and Ateles belzebuth) and the small cat jaguatirica (Leopardus pardalis) - the breeding in captivity of this last species has been a success and in 2004 the Tropical Manaus Zoo was ranked as the fourth Brazilian endangered jaguatirica breeding spot.

2. Hotel Tropical Manaus Business

The Hotel Tropical Manaus Business is the number one in Manaus for business travelers. It was opened in May 2004. This property is an impressive 16 storied tower of blue glass, steel, and granite overlooking the beautiful landscape of Rio Negro and the Amazon Forest, Tropical Business Manaus is strategically located on the same grounds of the prestigious Tropical Manaus Resort and its tower is the first multi-functional intelligent building of its kind in the town. It was carefully designed to provide our corporate clients with a first class business environment and a choice between spacious apartments or business suites.

Tropical Business Manaus is a twin hotel, located inside of the complex of the Tropical Manaus Eco Resort Experience, with 220 apartments and an excellent infrastructure for accommodation of business events and oriented tourism. The hotel facilities include floor for non-smokers, private swimming pool with nocturnal illumination, cooling shower, solarium, outdoors area for rest, game room, cyber-café, heliport with VIP room for check-in/out, restaurant in the ground floor with view to the suspended garden and Negro river, and also a panoramic restaurant in the top floor. Our guests besides use the facilities above also will be able to enjoy of the services of traditional the Tropical Manaus Echo Resort Experience.

At Tropical Business Manaus our dedicated reception staff is ready to answer your calls and greet the guests, while the hotels Business Center will be offering word processing/clerical support staff to prepare business correspondence, documents and presentations whenever needed. The hotel facilities also include parking and valet services, fitness center and a fabulous endless pool, overlooking Rio Negro.

The Complex and Resort

The Tropical Manaus Eco-resort is Brazil's largest luxury hotel in Brazil. A complete complex for all kind of hotel services, events, sports, tourism and leisure. The property map of structure is described in the figure 1 below. The Tropical Manaus Resort is built within a green area equivalent to 400 thousand square meters.

Located in the heart of the Amazon jungle on the banks of the Rio Negro (Black River in the merge with the Amazon river), the property offers almost 800 (for the two hotels) well-appointed rooms ranging from comfortable and quaint accommodations to two-storied luxury suites with a private pool.

Guests will find a number of activities around the hotel to enjoy their stay, such as a zoo, two swimming pools, one of them with artificial waves, five tennis courts, a volleyball court, a sauna, a beauty parlor.
